While visiting a LEGO® store in Chicago with my family, I was mesmerized by a huge brick mosaic depicting the cityscape on the walls outside of the store. While I had played with LEGO® as a child (and again with my own children), I always had built three-dimensional projects, but I hadn’t before considered using them for creating two-dimensional artwork. What I found especially fascinating about the Chicago skyline mosaic was how subtle details somehow emerged from a very low resolution art work (LEGO® bricks are extremely low resolution at only 3.2 pixels per inch!), and how the appearance of the piece changed when viewed closeup and from afar. I was hooked and I decided that I wanted to explore this art medium myself. But how could I begin building this unusual art? My exploration of this medium has been a self-led journey with plenty of trial and error, but I have enjoyed the journey and have a sense of pride about the pieces I have created and the joy they bring to others.

I enjoy working with others to create custom works and to bring creative ideas to life. Some possible opportunities for custom works include one of a kind mosaics and portraits built using LEGO® bricks and creation of digital artwork in the style of LEGO® bricks. Of course, there are many other possibilities, so if you have an idea for a commission, please do not hesitate to contact me.

I have over 10 years experience and have written dozens of e-books on how to create lego mosaics for beginners.
